The Town of Salmon, Idaho is located on the eastern border of the state on US Highway 93. Visitors can access Salmon by flying into either Boise, ID or Missoula, MT and driving or chartering a flight from either airport into Salmon.  Many outfitters offer or include airfare/lodging packages to/from Salmon out of Boise.

From Boise, Idaho

By car, Salmon is a 5 hour (+/-) drive northeast from Boise, Idaho traveling either Idaho Highway 55 to Idaho Highway 21 to Idaho Highway 75 to US Highway 93 or traveling via US Interstate 84 to US Highway 20/26 to US Highway 93.

From Missoula, Montana

From Missoula, MT it is a 2 ½ hour drive south via US Highway 93. The Main Salmon River float begins at Corn Creek, 68 miles from Salmon, Idaho and takes out at Carey Creek Boat Ramp, 30 miles east of Riggins, Idaho on the other side of the state.  Due to the nature of this trip, multiple transportation options are available.  Packages which include airfare, ground transportation and lodging in and out of Boise are available as are shuttle options to reunite you with your vehicle at trip’s end.  Check with your outfitter for the option which best suits your needs
